New Heat Transfer Modelling Features in COMSOL 5.3

Written by: COMSOL | Published: 05/17

Tune into this webinar to learn about the new heat transfer modelling features and functionality in the latest release of the COMSOL software, version 5.3. In COMSOL Multiphysics version 5.3, the Heat Transfer Module includes features and capabilities that were driven by the requests of software users working on a wide variety of projects. Some of the updates include:

  • Features for modelling evaporation and evaporation on surfaces as well as laminar and turbulent transport of vapour in air
  • The ability to simulate time-dependent periodic problems in the frequency domain to reduce computational costs
  • Geometry parts for heat sinks
  • An Irreversible Transformation feature to model thermally induced transformation and account for enthalpy changes and different material properties for the transformed state

During the webinar, you will get the latest information directly from the development team and can ask them questions throughout the presentation as they demonstrate how to use these new features. We will discuss conditions in which time-dependent periodic studies can be used, and give a live demonstration to compare the accuracy and computational cost with a classical time-dependent study. You will also see how to include and parameterise the new geometry parts in a heat sink model.

You can ask questions throughout the presentation or during the Q&A session at the end.
